The Council of Australian Law Deans (CALD) is pleased to announce several significant changes.

CALD has for many years been the peak body for all Australian Law Schools, providing a platform for consultation on matters of mutual concern, supporting high quality legal education and legal research in Australia, and promoting cooperation between law schools.  CALD has recently finalised several initiatives intended to enhance the efficiency of its operations and the effectiveness of its activities.

New CALD website

We are excited to unveil our newly redesigned website, which offers a user-friendly experience with improved navigation and function.  The new website provides comprehensive information on law schools and legal education in Australia, along with a new members’ section that will include important information for Law Deans.  The launch represents our commitment to providing the best possible online experience for our visitors and members.

Incorporation of CALD

In a major step forward, the Council of Australian Law Deans (CALD) Limited (ACN 676 502 686) has successfully completed its incorporation.  This milestone formalises the structure of CALD and positions the organisation to enhance its operational capabilities.  The founding members and directors are the CALD Co-Chairs, Professor Nick James from Bond University, Professor Anita Stuhmcke from the University of Technology Sydney and Professor Therese Wilson from Griffith University.

Relationships with LEAD and LADRN

We are pleased to announce the formalisation of the relationships between CALD and the Legal Education Associate Deans (LEAD) Network, the Law Associate Deans Research Network (LADRN) and the Australian Law Students Association (ALSA).  MOUs have been finalised with all three organisations that will enhance collaboration with CALD. These partnerships are crucial to the achievement of CALD’s objectives.
